Taylor Swift And Beyonce Top Forbes’ List of Richest Self-Made Women

Forbes’ second annual list of America’s Richest Self-Made Women is out, and Taylor Swift is the youngest person on the list, reportedly having accumulated a net worth of $250 million at only 26 years old. The amount earned her the No. 60 spot. Swift, who had an epic 2015 that included an around-the-globe tour for one of the year’s most successful stadium concerts).

The list looks at the most influential trailblazers that have made their mark and their fortunes from scratch, and some pretty incredible women made the cut. Out of these 60 women, 17 of them are billionaires including the richest woman in America Diane Hendricks, who owns ABC Supply, the largest wholesale distributor of roofing and siding in the country, Oprah Winfrey, Sheryl Sandberg and more.

Nasty Gal founder.  and #Girlboss author Sophia Amoruso, 32, #52 is the second youngest on the list her net worth is $280 million. Amoruso started the business at age 22. Back then it was nothing more than an Ebay store where she sold luxe vintage pieces. It was so popular that within two years, she formally started the website Nasty Gal as a vintage clothing destination. Now 32, she still owns the company though she gave up the CEO reins to an outsider. She is worth an estimated $280 million.

Beyoncé claims the 56th spot on the list with a reported net worth of $265 million. At age 34, the 20-time Grammy Award-winner is also the third youngest person on the list. Beyonce gets most of her wealth from music sales and touring. Her On The Run tour with husband Jay Z in 2014, for example, grossed over $100 million from 19 North American shows. Her headline-grabbing visual album Lemonade, which came out too late for Forbes to include in her net worth estimate, could boost her bottom-line next year. Regardless, Beyonce isn’t relying solely on her music; she launched an athleisure line this year.

35 year old actress-turned-eco-activist Jessica Alba landed in the #42 spot thanks to her The Honest Company, which sells all-natural, chemical- and hormone-free household products like dish soap, cleaning spray and diapers with a transparent ingredient list. Her net worth is estimated at $340 million thanks to a new $100 million funding round in August 2015, which valued the business at $1.7 billion, despite critics saying some of the products aren’t as chemical-free as advertised.

The members don’t come as too much of a surprise, considering most are known for their strong work ethics and creativity, especially big names in entertainment like Madonna (No. 25), Beyoncé (No. 56) , Celine Dion (No. 37) , Barbra Streisand (No. 38) , Oprah Winfrey (No. 2) , Facebook’s Sheryl Sandberg (No. 14) , and writers Nora Roberts (No. 42) and Danielle Steel (No. 48) also ranked in.
